Job Description

Island Serenity is seeking a reliable and energetic Deckhand to join our marine crew. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the safe operation and maintenance of our vessels while delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate has a passion for the sea, a strong work ethic, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Skills/Qualifications Required

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to lift and carry heavy items and work in varying weather conditions

Strong swimming ability; lifeguard certification is a plus

STCW certification or willingness to obtain (if applicable)

Knowledge of basic seamanship and vessel operations

Prior experience as a deckhand or similar marine role preferred

Support shore excursions and water-based activities (snorkeling, diving, etc.)

Operate small watercrafts, such as tenders or jet skis (if certified)

Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to all guests

Participate in emergency drills and respond to onboard incidents as needed

Support the Captain and crew in navigation and voyage preparation

Handle lines, fenders, and other deck gear

Assist guests with boarding and disembarking; ensure safety and comfort

Conduct regular safety checks and ensure all equipment is in working order

Maintain cleanliness and order on deck and vessel areas (washing, painting, polishing)

Assist in docking, mooring, anchoring, and undocking operations
