Job Description

The Resort Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Serenity Island Resort, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient staff management, and smooth coordination of all departments. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of hospitality operations to maintain high standards and contribute to the resort’s profitability and reputation.

Budget preparation, financial reporting, and cost control

Clear and effective communication with staff, guests, and stakeholders

6. Crisis Management & Decision-Making

Fast, informed decision-making in remote or resource-limited situations

Ability to stay calm under pressure

7. Technical & System Proficiency

Understanding of maintenance schedules and operational logistics

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), POS, and basic IT systems

8. Environmental & Sustainability Awareness

Supporting sustainable tourism policies on the island

Waste management and energy efficiency considerations

Knowledge of eco-friendly and marine protection practices

 

Education:Professional Experience:

Experience working in island, marine-based, or eco-tourism resorts (highly desirable)

Proven track record of managing multi-departmental teams in a remote, hospitality-based environment

Minimum 5 years’ experience in hotel or resort operations, with at least 2 years in a senior managerial role

Additional certifications in leadership, tourism operations, or marine/hospitality safety (preferred)

Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel & Resort Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required)

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to island resorts

Experience in guest services, food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and logistics

Financial literacy (budgeting, forecasting, and cost control)

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Other Requirements:

Ability to work under pressure and in remote settings with limited access to external support

Valid driver’s license and boat/marine experience (preferred but not mandatory)

Culturally sensitive, team-oriented, and guest-focused

Willingness to live and work on-site full time, including weekends and holidays
