About the Role

Hilton is seeking a passionate and creative Commis (Baker) Chef to join our kitchen team in Nadi. In this role, you'll assist in preparing and baking high-quality bread, pastries, and cakes that delight guests and meet Hilton’s renowned culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate positively with team members and other departments
  • Work toward kitchen performance goals (cost control, efficiency, etc.)
  • Report any maintenance or hazard issues immediately
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and fire regulations
  • Support the broader kitchen team as needed
  • Prepare mis-en-place for menus and service periods
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene across all work areas
  • Maintain food consistency, taste, and presentation to Hilton standards
  • Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs and bakers
  • Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods

Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Passion for baking and a desire to learn and grow in hospitality
  • Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Basic food hygiene certification
  • Experience or training in baking techniques and use of baking ingredients

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Hilton brand standards or similar high-volume kitchens
  • Previous experience in a hotel or commercial bakery
  • Completion of a recognized commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship
