💼 The Role: Resort Accountant

We’re seeking a detail-driven, trustworthy Resort Accountant to join us during our exciting pre-opening phase and stay on through daily operations. You’ll play a key role in keeping our finances in order — from managing accounts and processing payments to helping shape our financial procedures. It’s a unique opportunity to help build the financial foundation of a boutique island resort from day one.

Skills/Qualifications Required

🔍 Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with other departments like HR, Purchasing, and Operations

Support internal and external audits

Help create finance-related SOPs and ensure compliance with policies and legal standards

Prepare regular financial reports and summaries for management

Support payroll processing and staff compensation tracking

Process vendor invoices, payments, and staff reimbursements

Monitor expenses and help implement cost-saving practices

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking costs before and after the opening

Handle daily accounting duties including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and ledger entries

✅ What We're Looking For

Willingness to live and work in a remote island setting (accommodation provided)

Ability to handle sensitive financial data with integrity

Organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently

Good grasp of financial regulations and internal control practices

Familiar with accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or hotel-specific ERP systems

Strong attention to detail and excellent accuracy

Proven experience in a finance/accounting role (hospitality experience is a big plus)

Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
